The clenliness of the hotel was impeccable and the staff friendly and helpful
Great will came back
Staff were excellent and the service was first class
The staff were very friendly and accomodating and also always willing to assist. The food was very tasty.
They did not have a buffet lunnch or supper, and the lift was continuously out of order which made things very difficult for someone like me with knee and ankle problems to go up and down 3 floors most of the time.
Friendliness of the staff and always willing to go an extra mile to the guest
The cleanliness of the rooms and the speedy reponse of the staff when i was requested stuff
The airconditioner was so noisy. Had to switch it off ro sleep m could barely hear the tv when it was on.
The room was pleasant and I paid extra for the ocean view. It was very clean. It could do with some maintainence to the elevator. All in all it was great value for money. For families however due to safety and facilities I would recommend staying at a hotel at Umshlanga Rocks where most of the night life is located. Police presence around the Balmoral and area hotels was noticeable which helps a tourist feel safer.
Location has deteriorated significantly over the years but I can still recommmend it
Polite and helpful staff, delicious breakfast, spacious room.
it was clean and comfotable
very poor service, unable to cater for large crowds
I was awaken up early in the morning by their staff to remove my car in the early morning, for which I have left my car key in the previous evening. To ensure that they have removed my car safely, I called the front desk to reconfirm if the car was safely removed, and all I heard from the other end of the line was a cold questioning of my room number. I was really upset first by the uneanted morning call then later by the rudeness of their staff at the front desk. This is not supposed to happen in a 4-star hotel! The purpose of my trip is to search for a proper accomodation of 40 guest coming from Taiwan for cop 17 conference, I think they lost a good business opportunity.
If wish all tv channels were available and also the floor carpet was not stable but we enjoyed our stay thanks to the management and staff thanx a million
Tv channels were not full floor carpet was not stable
Efficient, helpful staff at check-in - for some reason my booking was under my first rather than my surname so it could not be found. The lady at the desk gave me access to a computer to retrieve my booking from my e-mail as I did not have a printout with me. The location - right across the beach and the fifa 2010 fanfest was excellent as it meant I was able to go out walking in the evening on my own without having to worry about safety or security.
Some of the staff were a bit rude on my way out - very different from the evening before - while I was anxiously waiting for a taxi I had requested at the reception for an early morning departure - which had not turned up. The reception staff were however very cordial and quickly tried to rectify the problem.
Proximity to the beach.
The room deco is a bit old but I guess that explains the very reasonable rate.
Accessubility from Durban when you do not have transport.
I did not like the noise made by occupants upstairs walking on the wooden flooring when you are on th gfirst floor. It woke me up earlier than I planned
quick overnight stay. loved antique furnishings. staff - friendly, polite, efficient. we went on maintenance day, but still very impressed.
